    Crimea. The autonomous republic of Crimea is part of Ukraine, and it is situated in the peninsula from which it takes its name. It is washed by the Black Sea in the west, south and south-east and by the Azov Sea in the north-east. In the north the peninsula borders with the continental Ukraine. The area of Crimea is 27.000 square km. The population is 2.650.000 people (there are many nationalities as Russian, Ukrainian, Tartars, Armenian, Greece, Bulgarian, Germans and others). About 68% of the people lives in the cities.

From the North and to the South of the Crimea peninsula across the steppe flows the North Crimea canal (it is 402 km) for watering the cities and villages. At the South, Crimean mountains are divided in three ridges that long for 180 km from Sevastopol to Feodosia. Along the Famous Ridge (the South Ridge) it is situated the narrow (2-3 km) valley of the South side of Crimea.
    Crimea is very famous as a health resort in the east Europe and Russia. Health resorts are the main riches of our land, but the base of economic are food, construction, chemical, different machine-building industries, agriculture, fishing and transport system. There is the longest and the highest trolleybus road in Europe, Simferopol-Yalta, with its 96 km long and to 753 m high.The capital of Crimea is Simferopol. The health resorts are situated in Big Yalta, Alushta, Sudak, Feodosia, Evpatoria.

    The Crimea is a wonderful place with peculiar history, culture traditions and very picturesque nature.There are many sunshine beaches, health houses, monuments of culture, history and nature. Crimea is one of the famous and one of the biggest health resort in the former USSR.

The trip lies through Katsiveli, where Crimean Astrophysical Observatory is situated. There will be an opportunity to see radio-telescope RT-22 and some other equipment. Wine-testing at Massandra Wine Works will close the excursion.

2. "Large Northern Tour". This is a new trip. It includes visiting of Yevpatoria National Center of Space Vehicles Testing and Controlling, which has a rich history, as it took part in the following basic projects:

1980-1982 - radar observations of Mars, Venus and Mercury;
1981-1982 - remote controlling of robot interplanetary stations "Venera-15"  and "Venera-16" (the first color photographs of Venus surface have been received);
1982 - radio-astronomical investigation of pulsars radiation, spectral investigation of radiation of molecular clouds; 1983-1984 - remote controlling of robot interplanetary stations "Venera-15" and "Venera-16" (the full map of Venus surface has been received);
1983-1991 - remote controlling of orbiting station "Astron" and observation of ultraviolet spectra of no terrestrial objects;
1984-1987 - investigation of Venus and Galley comet with the aid of robot interplanetary stations "Vega-1" and "Vega-2";
1988-1989 - investigation of Mars and its satellite Phobos with the aid of robot interplanetary stations "Phobos-1" and "Phobos-2";
1992 - radar observations of Tautaris asteroid jointly with German Center of Deep-Space Communication (Bonn);
1989-1999 - investigation of the Universe by space observatory "Granat";
1995-2000 - International complex multisatellite project "Interbol" related to the study of solar-terrestrial relationship and physical processes, which take place in space plasma;

The trip includes visiting of radio-telescope RT-70, which is followed by the rest on Yevpatoria beach and wine-testing at Bakhchisaray Wine Works.

3. "Small Northern Tour". This is also a new trip, which lies through memorial places related to research activity of A.S. Popovs's activity. The trip starts from the obelisk, which has been put up at the place of installation of the first Russian powerful coastal radio-set. Then members of the excursion will visit Black Sea Fleet Museum. There they will be shown some exhibits of that time. The excursion will go on at Radiogorka (Radio-mountain if translated into English). This is a district of Sevastopol, which is historically related to the above mentioned events. The excursion will be closed by the rest on Radiogorka beach.
